Plaque found on beach.

This picture is on Facebook. The plaque was found buried. Any ideas about family?

Google shows Flt Lt Nicholas as one of those tragically lost in the accident to Nimrod XV230.

The official MOD announcement says that he was from Newquay.

How on earth did it end up on a beach?
Stranger things have happened. My father's bed plate(similar to that below) was returned to me a few years ago, having been found under a patio in Hay on Wye. He served 1948 to 1969 and had no connection with Hay.
