They'll be able to kill loads more people with that.

Go US&A.

PP, cynic, look at the link, only cooking the radar and disabling systems. Clearly not sporting cooking people.

Goodness, PP, we wouldn't want anyone to invent a weapon for their military that might actually kill someone, would we? Are you sure you're ex-mil? You seem incredibly anti.

That would be useful against those idiots who point lasers at pilots by night!

"Call that a laser? Now that's a laser!"

I suppose the British version will require all crew members to use their survival tin heliographs in unison?

Stick it on a satellite with a half decent optical sight, web based aiming and park it over the duty nasty people of the month.

Folks (suitably vetted of course) could then hire access to the web based aiming thingy via a smart phone app and charge via PayPal per roasting.....

Let the fun begin

Just how much power do you think that a geostationary satellite 36000 km above the equator would need, particularly if your 'nasty people' are at latitudes some distance from the equator? And how would it be supplied with such power?

Wouldn't it be a thing though if good old Albert delivered some serious "crispy critter" effects to the battlefield ! A directed beam, capable of hitting individuals, of dubious intent, would offer a reduction in collateral damage. Well, there's me and my Albert dreams again I still reckon it's one hell of a weapons platform.

Merry Christmas all

Most 'nasty people' live conveniently close to the equator.
