"He's lucky that President Obama is on his side, otherwise rather than receiving a trial, he'd receive a Hellfire missile and no trial."

Speech writer for the Donald?

I think if the president had his way there would be no trial either. Nothing.

So none of you have an issue with

Navaleye
"He should be stuck against a wall and shot. Cowardice in the face of the enemy should attract the ultimate sanction"?

Of course I have an issue with a kangaroo judgment, hence my support for a full, fair court-martial proceeding and go where justice leads.

Quite agree, if found guilty and then comuted to life imprisonment.

Yep, hence.

Whilst I don't agree with some of the opinions stated..
You quite literally replied after I said it.

Do you decide "I'm going angry tonight" then just ignore everything written to follow a pre-defined course?

The US forces still have the death penalty within the UCMJ and have at least one prisoner on death row.

Which is the worst, the death penalty (being carried out), death penalty (remaining on death row), or life imprisonment?

As deterrent punishment none of these are effective as is regularly demonstrated. Once sentenced however?

Justice aside for the moment, I think the worst may be the sleepless nights and anxiety he probably has and will endure. How does one live with one's self under such circumstances?

I don't think deterrence is much help here. I doubt he ever considered or balanced the "benefit" of what he did against the risk of being punished for it.

Justice in this case, perhaps, has the most benefit for others - just the fact that real justice, not knee jerk judgment or no judgment at all, would occur. There are men who serve their country knowing that it truly stands for what is right. Why else would one be a patriot?

Actually, Obama is all for using Drone fired Hellfire Missiles to kill American Citizens who join the Oppose.....just not this particular one. He would rather parade the guy's Parents around the Rose Garden at a Presser then trade Five Taliban Leaders for their Son who served with distinction and honor despite deserting his post during Combat Operations with an armed enemy.

Honest to God you cannot make this crap up and it smell any worse!
