RIP Andy Parry

It is with great sadness that I bring the tragic news that Wg Cdr Andy Parry died suddenly yesterday morning. Andy is probably best known as a Navigator, Captain and Flt Cdr on the the Nimrod MR2 fleet where he served with distinction and will be sadly missed by all. RIP Andy!

That's shockingly sad news. A really nice bloke who had an awful lot more life to live. Condolences don't quite cut it, but it's all most of us can offer.

Oh no: what an awful shock. Such sad news, I knew him well as a fellow operator and Flt Cdr. My sincerest condolences to his family. He was a genuinely good bloke.

Sad news, I was crewed with Andy in the 'good old days' of 90s Nimrods and then bumped into him a few times around the bazaars when he moved on. Always modest and looking on the bright side of life, he was a great inspiration as to how to keep a realistic focus on enjoying yourself, despite the RAF's best efforts sometimes!

Very sad news and a heck of a shock to hear of one of life's optimists taken too early. A genuinely modest and unassuming nice guy who was always a pleasure to work with. Thoughts and condolences to his family. R.I.P. Mate. What a shame!

Another great loss from the old 'Kipper Fleet'. Was on the same OCU back in the mid 80's and on the mighty '120' Sqn with him at ISK. You're too young to leave us. RIP Andy - a good all round team player!

Andy was also a 'Pinger' and served on exchange with the RN in the Sea King Fleet - he was a pleasure to know and fun to be with as well as being great professional. Always sad to lose one of the good guys too young.

Funeral Details

Andy's funeral will take place at Lincoln Cathedral on Tue 24th Nov at 1100. Elaine is keen to give Andy a send off he deserves and has asked if all military personnel attending the funeral will wear uniform.
