With seemingly the Army getting their Apaches upgraded to AH-64E standard for a couple of billion, and the Navy getting money to update Faslane, what do we think the RAF will be getting money for, if anything.

A couple of helmets and a cardboard cut out F35 to drool over, that should come to a few billion.

I did see an option to double the Rivet Joint fleet...that would be quite expensive!

Do you have kids?

Have any of them ever said "It's not fair!", and you have felt like telling them to grow up?

Just wondering......

To be fair, £500M at Faslane wont actually buy very much. Compare that to the cost of HS2 - projected at between £43 and 80 Bn depending on which report you read. And it may buy you about 3 miles of a 3 lane motorway.

that £ 500mm is over 10 years as well - a classic "Gordon Brown" announcement

it's about the cost of one F-35 over the same time period.............

Neither of those two "stories" are worth a can of baked beans. Trident base upgrade story deserves better than to be released on a wet UK Bank Holiday, without the approval (in fact with the seeming apparent disapproval) of all the resident SNP MPs in London Parliament. It will never, ever happen.
Hard to see a positive future for the RAF at all. Drone development? UK anti drone-attack squadron forming up?

Now is the time to move any P-8 types to the RN and be done with it...

At the risk of regurgitating past discussion, P-8, no decision but probably in the pipeline, good capability, etc. But where will it be based? Anoint it as an ISTAR asset and shoehorn into Waddington? Or shoehorn into Lossie or Brize? Or, can it go into a former but still active airfield like Kinloss or Leuchars? Crikey, we could even christen either of the latter candidates "Joint Bases" just like our US cousins are increasingly doing...

I think you have had enough out of the MFTS budget already, and, don't forget all the Typhoons, CH47-6, hotels...etc you got.

Stop being gr(n)eedy!

Those top end curtains and carpets in the VSO areas must be due for a change now; must be at least 6 months since the last 'fitment schedule'...

Reds & Greens,

No more curtains - now included in Disturbance Allowance (Overseas anyways). But I like the cynicism
