Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at rafalenews.********.co.uk.
Try obtaining the complete URL and posting that.

Copy/pasting a truncated URL does not work.

It's pprune that automatically destroys the URL for certain websites, not the OP's fault.

Well done the French. That should help keep the production line open a bit longer. Hope they manage to actually deliver the ships or St Nazaire is going to look like 1942 again.

Egypt is joining Brazil, the UAE, Algeria, and India in buying the Rafale then?

All have said they will at one time or another, and I'll believe Egypt's buy when I see it.

Agree, until I see them flying with other nations (and not painted up for an airshow) then I will believe it. What for 3 years the India sale has been "under negotiation"?

Rafale (French pronunciation: [ʁafal], squall)
Given its name, is all this talk with the Egyptians a load of wind?

French twin-engine, canard delta-wing, multirole fighter aircraft ... equipped with a wide range of weapons, the Rafale is intended to perform air supremacy, interdiction, reconnaissance, and nuclear strike missions.
Oh dear, selling the Egyptians "nuclear capable aircraft." I suppose we can expect the usual suspects

I was thinking more of the shipping being piled up all higgledy-piggledy after Op Chariot.

The Air Force, God bless 'em, tended mostly to miss at that stage in the war.

I see they have just jumped into bed with the Russians. Could this be a bargaining ploy?

France, Qatar seal 6.3 billion euro Rafale fighter jet deal - The Economic Times

After the recent announcement of 24 jets for Egypt and 36 for India, it looks like Qatar is now signing up for 24 as well. Confidence is high that 60 jets for UAE might also come back to the table.

Very quiet in the Eurofighter camp.

And of course, being Jewish, against nuclear proliferation or being a pacifist makes you an idiot..aka Einstein

I'll give you one thing, you are good at pigeon-holing. A pity that by doing so you make your own slot...

Nah,
The objections will come from the US DoD and Congressional minions as to why the F-35 wasn't selected.

The French President will move to Doha on May 4th to sign the contract !

Many years of hard work now rewarded, so great, we all fly to the ceiling honestly...

Now back to prepare the arrival of those magnificent jets... That's a reminder of the 70s when those big deals were happening monthly - for those who were teenagers at the time

If you knew how to read and comprehend the English language, you'd know that the only group given the added character of idiots were the anti-nukes. The rest would have their own objections for their own reasons. Now, go read the sentence again, this time for comprehension. (It was also a bit of hyperbole, unless that flew over thine head as well.) That is often used as a form of humor, in case you weren't sure.

France to sell Egypt 30 fighter jets in $4.5 billion deal: Egyptian defense ministry, report

PARIS (Reuters) - Egypt has signed a contract with France to buy 30 Rafale fighter jets, its defence ministry said in a statement early on Tuesday, in a deal that investigative website Disclose said on Monday was worth 3.75 billion euro ($4.5 billion).

President Emmanuel Macron said in December he would not make the sale of weapons to Egypt conditional on human rights because he did not want to weaken Cairo’s ability to counter terrorism in the region, a comment that drew the ire of critics.

Egypt’s defense ministry said the deal would be financed through a loan to be re-paid over at least 10 years, but did not disclose the value of the deal or further details.

Citing confidential documents, Disclose said an agreement had been concluded at the end of April and a deal could be sealed on Tuesday when an Egyptian delegation arrives in Paris.

This deal would be a further boost for the Dassault-made warplane after a 2.5 billion euro agreement was finalised in January for the sale of 18 Rafales to Greece.

The Egyptian accord also reportedly covers contracts for missile provider MBDA and equipment provider Safran Electronics & Defense which are worth another 200 million euros.

France’s finance, foreign and armed forces ministries were not immediately available for comment.......
