0'clock position question

Sorry new in your Forum. maybe this was asked already before ;
Just received and saw for teh first time this absolutely superb video :

Typhoon - a ride with the best: The Science Museum, London - YouTube

A question puzzle me, does someone (RAF) knows why the guy is always refering to his leader as being in "6 o'clock " position as obviously he is on his 11 ?

Listen again: "The Lead's 6 o'clock is clear".

Clearly the #2 pilot is checking that his leader's rear hemisphere is clear of threats.

A very good promotional video showing the dream of every true, red-blooded U/T pilot!

Thanks BEagle, I understood it at " I am clear of the leader" which is , for me, mere " civilian pilot " what I would be worried about when pullig 6Gs turns at 480 Kts at 250 ft!

Classic quotes.

"Boss, is that you in my 6 o'clock"?

"Behind the line from 3 to 9 and coming down"!!

"Buchan/Boulmer/Neat Bogey dope"! - "Roger, check 6"#

# almost invariably the right call

I always found low level flying exciting (especially when the ACO were "not above 150 ft agl") but tbh, I never felt the need to check my pants afterwards

How much of that narrative is for the display, and how much is for 'real'?

Alf - suspect he's been asked by the shooter in the back seat to say out loud what he would normally just mentally run through; to provide audio commentary for the pictures - it all sounds pretty reasonable and not for show...

When we change from Greenwich Mean Time to British Summer Time does everything around you move by an hour?
