Never met him, wish I had. Not only a brave pilot but ISTR also an "escaper. RIP. Condolences to his family

Sad, but this brave man had a future that many of his peers didn't and I'm sure he remembered that every day of his 'borrowed time'.

He also allowed those of us who didn't experience it to empathise.
