PORK PIE COMPETITION

A home made Pork Pie competition will be held at the Marquis of Granby in Granby Notts at 1500 8JUN2013. The competition aims to raise money for BLESMA so if you live in the area get baking you own pork pie and enter it into the competition £1.50 per entry. Cheats who enter a shop bought pie will be fined £5 though we will eat it after the judging has finished! The best pork pie that I have ever tasted came from Ireland - the butcher said that the recipe came to him from space. It was meaty o' right.

Great idea. The butchers in Oakham had a sign in the window quite recently;

'Sorry, no pork pies this week on account of George dying'.

Harris of Calne closed down some years ago.

Without the trade supplying RAF Yatesbury and RAF Compton Bassett they had no chance.

Blimey lads, calm down ! If I was still on the Albert fleet, and you lot were "front end" I suspect we would need some nose down trim ?
