I didn't say it wasn't a logical choice, just that it 'looks' wrong.

I also believe having the wheel sponsons forward makes for a better spot to hang rocket pods etc away from the rotor disk, and away from the troop door. Also those US Army H-60 drivers can do some pretty impressive "wheelies" dragging that tail wheel on landing.
