Following on from a suggestion by his serving cousin the USN have added a plaque to one of their F18's to honour his sacrifice

Normally I'd put some comment about the Ooohrah nature of our cousins across the pond - not today.

BZ all round, a fitting tribute.

Nice to see the pbi can slip those surly bonds - I hope Kieron's loved one's hearts soar too.

Well done USN.

Typical of the Yanks to do something like that and full marks to them, a wonderful way to keep the young man's name alive. No doubt if we proposed something like that here it would be rejected on cost grounds or because it might offend someone........

Outstanding

That is one of the best things I have read in a long while
and the fact that the USN is doing it for a British soldier
is superb.

An awesome tribute by the US Navy. The Hornet guy's have a lot of time for the British forces on the ground in Helmand as it's the area they support the most. Cheers VFA -34 .

faithless,

FYI, RAF VC10s have (for a long time) had the names of Victoria Cross winners painted on their sides, some since 1966. The citations were also displayed in the Sqn building(s) for many years.

What a nice way to remember the Fallen.
Sadly the way things are going in the near future there wont be enough equipment in the UK Armed services to to put the names of the fallen on

My respect for the USN has just gone up yet another notch or three

A really great idea and I'm sure it will be seriously appreciated this side of the pond
