TERMINATE TERMINATE TERMINATE - visibilty obscured by tears of mirth!

Although not strictly 'name badges'.......

Knew a chap at school - surname of HARRY, whose rather sad parents had christened him TOM DICKEN!!!

Also, a mate of mine during training whose real name was ROGER ORGAN, and his dad, DICK.

Luckily, I'm sure Rog won't mind me sharing this with you. He is a top bloke and his whole family has the sense of humour gene in abundance (even his gran had a double-entendre 'handle' but I can't remember it). Anyone know of Rog's whereabouts please email me!

I remember well how I got completely shredded at happy hour one Friday posing as 'Phil McGlass'

Also confused our American cousins at Red Flag when known as 'FQ' (It's a soft 'F')

Someone should count up the number of names on this thread an publish them somewhere!

Talking

From new Austin Powers movie. Female lead in film of Power's exploits:

Dixie Normous

Unfortunately, this was probably the best gag in the film. (Though the Shaguar car runs a close second). Probably best watched on det in Goose after a few ales.

I went to school with "Olive Green" (no kidding).

I trained with "Mark Gash" and "Nicholas Hawes" - both genuine names.

We had an F3 guy at Leeming called Andy "sorby" Hynd, and Gereman exchange guy - real name "Uwe", nickname "Vax".

But best of all:

My friend Debbie Firkin from BZN (funny enough in it's own right sorry Debs!) married an Artillery Major called Mark Boyes. We tried to persuade her that she should hyphenate - "Debbie Firkin-Boyes" was too good to miss out on!

Older readers may also remember "Arthur Sixpence" and his friend "Arthur Crown". Don't forget the VC10 steward called "Roland Butter".

After the fun he had at a recent RIAT, Mike Oxmells won't be retiring just yet. A big thank you to the girls in the Breitling hospitality chalet, particularly the one who claimed to be called Phyllis Fullercombe....

There was a guy in school called David O'Rea, I wonder why his parents moved to Wales as poor old Dai got ribbed mercilessly.

(Two of the teachers were listed in the phone book as P & B Quick)

After the "Black Friday" reading out of the names of those who had been chopped from the ITC at Finningley, one of whom was named Bates, an instructor was heard to mutter "Just as well really, he'd never have made Master"

I recall that Clive Crouch ( Vulcans circa 1979 ) christened his son 'Nicholas'.

Nothing matters very much, most things don't matter at all.
