Ghost Hawk, Stealth Hawk, Green Box

All these terms were used in today's ST about the Bin Laden SEAL mission, but Google draws a blank. Any ideas?

Do a search for "project verdant cover"

You won't find it on google anymore, but a bit of effort and initiative will bring rewards if you know where to look.

Well, I'm sure I'm walking straight into something here. But...

All those terms probably come from a book about the Bin Laden raid. The Hawks are supposedly secret versions of the Blackhawk, one stealthy and the other very quiet. Green Box is reportedly something to do with their electronics - controlling their "special features".

Not sure when the book is due to be published or anything about it, but it might make an interesting read.

Seeing as the black Omegas are no doubt well and truely past it what kind of cars do they who snatch people in the middle of the night use to get around to the homes of those who ask iffy questions these days?

Hllarious!!!

"When a room is entered, SEALs go into a state like satori - a wide-awake Zen consciousness," Pfarrer wrote. "All of the SEAL's senses are magnified."

It would have been so much easier if they had just announced he was dead and buried at sea. Far to much information released by Obama for political reasons including the unit.

"Ooo, a black Skoda has just pulled up outside...." just doesn't have the same ring. Makes it sound like a minicab has finally turned up.

Jamesdevice, thanks for the pointers. How strange for a book like that to have an element of fiction. But, surely an ex-SEAL wouldn't lie!

Had that one Hawk not crashed, there might have been less public release of info from the White House. With the crash, the jig was up, more or less.

I watched a TV programme on the operation a few weeks back - don't remember the channel- and a lot of the new stealth features were mentioned. I think the cat is truly out of the bag on this one. Good programme though.
