Angry MPs stressed out over expenses

The poor little lambs...

The new, tougher expenses regime is damaging MPs' "mental wellbeing", the doctor who looks after them has said.

Dr Ira Madan told a committee looking into the system that its "frustrations and difficulties" had increased workloads but decreased rewards.

She also said MPs were tired of being the butt of jokes about their expenses.
I believe we should make them come in at 0600hrs for met, plan a 4 ship OCA mission, fly it and then debrief it - then do the expenses claim on the piece of sh!t they call JPA having been in work 8 hours.

Sympathy? Yeh, it's between sh!t and syphalis...

Your heart just leaks purple p1ss for them doesn't it?

They're probably struggling because they're not sure which scams are still goers and which are not.

But . . . we misjudge them. They only wish to serve, to do what little they can to make this a better place and have just the odd trip with their boyfriend . . .

And what rewards are they entitled too? I am out of pocket now for each temp duty away, where in JPA is the rewards box, I'm not ticking it obviously.

0600? Luxury! We dreamt about 0600 starts

While I have no wish to follow on the "4 yorkshiremen" sketch and try to "top" anyone else, I can, in total honesty, say that I once, due a shortage of personnel, had to work, along with a few others, a shift pattern that consisted of 72hrs on, 72hrs off.

This went on for about 6 weeks until the manning situation improved.

I'm not saying it was hard, or that I didn't sleep at all during my 72hrs "on", but I am saying that it actually happened......

Tell youngsters that today - and they won't believe you...!

Oh, that really is beyond the pale (ale?) You poor sods. That's what most Aussies are doing over here - trying to get a decent pint of the dark and crisps that taste like Cheese and Onion.

Did you really mean to say that?

What the fug,
Bearing in mind the certain allegations flying around, the latter end of your post might be misconstrued.....

Maybe I am being stupid and/or your post portrays a more simplistic view of what actually happened to require a 72 on/72 off shift pattern, but as you were able to operate two shifts what would have been the difference in operating 24 on/24 off or even 12 on/12 off?? You would have had the same number of people!

As I said I might not be seeing the full picture here, so apologies.

As an aside, I used to love my 24 on/24 off Nuke QRA shifts and even better Deci shifts which we also used in the Gulf, Nellis and Alaska. We did try them once in Goose Bay but that was too hard.
