UAS Bulldog
I have a share in an ex-RAF UAS Bulldog (XX549) Our operating manual is complete apart from the load and balance section. If you are ex-UAS, it may be that you have a copy of the missing section in a dusty attic, or at the bottom of a box somewhere. Any info gratefully received, thanks in advance...

XX549 - that was based at Topcliffe during my time; many of us sweated buckets at Topcliffe during our session with Bulldog Standards Squadron...
The Bulldog is a nice little aeroplane and was an excellent military trainer back in the days when the RAF could afford its own aeroplanes......

777,you should have a current W & B loadsheet if you are operating the a/c,usually CAA recommended every 5-10 yrs.If not, google Planeweighs or Loadmasters ,they have comprehensive records,relatively cheap,cheaper if you can get a couple of other a/c done at same time. If it`s just the chapter out of the AP,sorry,can`t help,but see Beagle`s bit..

I too have a share in one. I have the manuals including the Operating Data Manual which has a section "Weight and Centre of Gravity". Is this what you are looking for?

I do not intend to give anyone any data from my aircraft. I do however, have the generic Bulldog graphs that allow an individual's data to entered and their own details to be extracted.

Thanks for the offer. We have pages 1 & 2 entitled Weight & C of G schedule which lists basic weights and lever arms etc, but not the graph to which the figures can be applied in order to check the CG. If that is what you have a copy will be most welcome. I will send my email address via a PM.

From my UAS days, (89-92) I seem to recall that the individual weight and balance info was kept in the aircraft's F700.
I was based at Topcliffe for a while so I just checked the old logbook.
I flew two sorties in XX549 on 14 Nov 1990, teaching circuits to two young chaps called Bird and Jury.
Although XX687 was my usual mount in those days.

If you flew XX549 in the past, you might like to know that she is still going strong and retains the UAS colours. Current FI is 104 and given that we are not wringing the ultimate G's out of her, she is good for around another 20 years of use before the mainspar mod is due at FI 114. Bulldogs are not the cheapest aircraft in terms of maintenance costs and fuel burn, but they are great to fly throughout the flight envelope, be it cross country or aerobatics. This summer we have been welcomed back to Lynham, Benson and Yeovilton and she has stirred a few memories for many of you, while she was there. Civvy reg is G-CBID, based at EGLM (White Waltham). I'm pleased to hear it's still going strong.
The Bulldog that once had my name on the engine cowling finished it's days as a pile of scrap when a certain VRT officer had a "fuel selection issue" just after takeoff.

Appears many times in my logbook 93-95 at SUAS. Was still there when went to Chivenor to guest for SUAS summer camp 96. Apart from the prop stopping in the air test spin, can remember absolutely nothing about any of the trips!!

Probably. Sadly from this distance, most of the 1000hrs' worth of instructional sorties blur into one. Occasionally look back and remember the really good/bad/fun/weird students.
