IOT is great fun...you run around lots.

...and what they expect from you?
They expect you to have half an ounce of common sense so please look at the sticky at the top of this forum and do a search FFS!

Now then...mate. A simple Google produced the following,

http://www.raf.mod.uk/careers/nextst...rstraining.cfm

As mentioned you also have the OASC sticky at the top of the forum and lastly you can contact you local AFCO who will give you all the info you need.

Umm, the ability to access information by oneself? Not to be led by the hand, or be able to use the internet, newspapers, military journals, RAF News, Google, RAF Web Site, E-Goat and the sticky at the top of this forum.
Or even try the AFCO they have a whole load of information and even a cool* DVD.

*cool is used in the media sense, not anything bearing a reality to life.

Leadership, initiative, tenacity, integrity and common sense are all I ever hoped for from my bosses. Let's hope your team are never disappointed.

I don't know what the 'new' version of IOT is like, it's been going nearly a year now I think, but the pass rate on the 'old' version of IOT was about 96%!

So I wouldn't have any great worries if I was you!

Craigeedee,

My old I hope your not planning on going aircrew, it appears that you may not even be able to tie your own shoe laces. And you don't call people 'mate' until after your wings ceremony

You're learning. In the RAF, that's known as work experience.

As an ex IOT flt cdr (and one of the original R Sqn flt cdrs) if craigeedee had rocked up on one of my flights then I would be looking at him very, very, very carefully.

Allan 907 - yes but they wouldnt let you chop him in case he sued. The comment 'I am not here to be selected, I already haver been, I am here to be trained 'was one comment made to me.

That idiot is now a Flt Cdr himself and his SNCO, an old personal friend is in despair. As for what IOT is all about it is a game, You play by their rules! It is also a place of fresh faced depravity and for some a continuance of the UAS .

A great time can be had by all!!!!

"Bloggs, I'm sorry. You were unable to assimilate the training and you've failed the course. Here's the address of the job centre"

There - job done!

Just with regards to the IOT stuff that's been posted, the current pass mark on the "new" course is somewhere around 75% first time, however, the vast majority of people will graduate given enough time and the correct remedial training (which I know second-hand is second to none at the college). With regards to some of the posts about OASC, I have some very good friends who are aircrew with Aero Eng degrees etc. and in all honesty your subject doesnt matter at all, its an ability to learn that is the requirement. With regards to those people the RAF takes on at 16/17 with scholarships etc etc etc they are taking a punt and paying them a lot less through training (trust me, a lot lot less - and i'm single). Also, with regards to eyesight, the requirements pre and post selection are oh so very different, and I believe the other services and WSO branch have lower requirements. Hope this helps - any other advice, shout!
