Kinloss Nimrod MR2 Gate Guard

It appears Kinloss finally has a Gate Guard!

Forgot to say, the IPT man said today any interested parties / museums etc can make approaches to them for bits as the MR2s get cut up from next year, nominal fees apply. The major players have been in touch & a number of deals have been arranged already so 'come on down'. PM me if details req'd.

Nope XV240 was towed up to crash gate 3 todayn near the Kinloss to Roseisle road. It is now resting on the freshly laid concrete blocks.

Well done to all that were involved.

Hooray!

Excellent news. Now, since it was impossible to get the jet to the main gate, is anyone looking into relocating the main gate to the aircraft??

Hope it wasn't that freshly laid, it'll be down to the axles by closing time.

Are you sure it isn't another one of those ever popular SLT exercises? Also I hope that there is a set of steps nearby to expedite the inevitable acqusition of spares.

MGD,

As a serving member of HM forces I found myself supportive of most of your posts. Now I am out my perspective has changed. Do yourself a favour mate, get out, stop worrying so much, it's not worth it. I fully support better everything for our forces but you are changing nothing by stirring things on here. I was often asked "if you don't like it why don't you get out?" So I did. Life is so much better when you stop fighting a system that you cannot beat. I'm not having a go mate, just making an observation from the outside, I don't come home angry anymore, like I used to do most days. Loads of stuff I miss but I'm not carrying that frustration around any more.

Regards

Mad Eng

Okay, so who nicked the cockpit wipers!! I mean surely the RAF can afford a number of spare sets of wipers.....surely. Either that, or someone at ISK is going around with a f.. ..f great big set of wipers on their car.

Agree with all of the above! Apart from the stupid, naive MRA4 post.
Well done Rab of Coastal.

Agree with all of the above, including MGD's post - it's called B A N T E R. Get over yourselves. Well done Rab, a fitting tribute.
