MOD approved Opticians - York area?

Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the direction of an opticians in York or the surrounding area which has an MOD contract?

I would like a repeat prescription and some contacts made up.

Got the form from the Doc ready to go....just need directions!

Have tried the Med Centre at Linton but no joy.....the person in the know is away till Thursday.

Ideally would like to get an appointment tomorrow.

Any clues?

Many thanks

Ralph

I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could

Try SpecSavers. They had the contract last time I looked. Service was cr^p so they may have lost it.

I used to go to Kelvin House - had the test - got the prescription - got the glasses from Med Centre. Easy peasey.

Then had to go to Spec Savers - had the test - got the prescription - got the call to go back - had them fitted. Man said have a look through them.

Could not see the end of the shop

online contacts

Ralph

I started a thread on here regarding the contacts support at Cranwell ending earlier this year. Having reached the end of the so called support line, I was able to get an appointment at my locally endorsed opticians. Now I have a prescription for both Specs & lenses that I can take wherever I want.

I have just ordered a new batch through Speccies on-line which saves around £20 per qtr compared to in store prices. A pretty painless option and very similar to the Cranwell process.....mine are in the post which was confirmed by email today!

Try here when you get your prescription:

Good luck

SA

Dont forget your f med form 1003 when you get your eyes tested. If you use a pc for more than an hour a day, you can claim upto £60 for your glasses back on JPA

Binnington & Thurling. YO1 6JH.
Vision Value Opticians. YO1 8SG.
