How about 'Future Lyneham' as a suitable epithet?

Yes true it is being scrapped. However.... it IS being replaced by a new project (currently un-named) which may move all rotary airframes, AAC and RAF to Dishforth/Leeming.

I fail to see how. One of the main factors of Belvedere being scrapped is the cost. Moving to Dishforth and Leeming would still incure a huge cost that JHC still can't afford.

What about Future Brize?

For a substantial loss in capability and efficiency we'll save a few quid at the cost of millions.

Genius!

JHC has nothing to do with that, but as far as Dishforth, Leeming, Yeovilton and Lyneham is concerned JHC has NO money to move anything anywhere!!!

As for loosing capability I thought it was clear to everyone that Labour really could not care less what capability we have to give up.

Door Slider:

I was using Future Brize as an example of how these projects are a criminal waste of taxpayer's money.

There will be no net saving for a very long time with that project.

Well, Benson and Odiham are safe. You might find other smaller airfields may upsticks. Fast-attack, I think that whoever you've been speaking to has been smoking something very strong

Good riddance. Taking in to account LAND's stated intent to move Army training North on cost grounds, having all our SH based South of 52N never was the cleverest idea in the world!
