Listening to pr00ne ramble on makes me want to say something that James May would come out with at a time like this.

"COCK"

You can always say that you are a bit fed up of living in an organisation that has 'Medieval class distinctions', won’t let you grow your hair long, doesn’t like the fact you want to have a separate social life from the Officers Mess and have absolutely no interest in secondary duties, then jack it all in and become a civvy!
Or join one of the European armed forces?

This is nothing to do with who you voted for or what it says on your commissioning scroll.
Join the armed forces and you are carrying out Government policy and you go WHERE the Govt tells you to, and you do WHAT the Govt tells you to do.
Pontificating about Brown and the Queen changes none of that.

Its just Brown is such a turd! Running his country into the ground and building up a total mountain range of debt! He chucks hundreds of billions into the banks and benefit scum yet you guys have to manage on a little over £30 billion per year!
We then get little turds like milliband telling other world leaders what to do! He should maybe finish his A levels first!
What a choice this country has next year!? Either more Brown or Cameron? I guess Cameron is best simply as he is not from New Labour and he also isn't Brown! But my god how crap they all are! Atleast if we get to give Brown the boot we can all see the look on his face when he knows he has lost!Maybe then he will know what a useless failure he is!
It amazes me how they try and act like such big boys and sit at the top table. Considering how f***** this nation now is our so called 'leaders' should try and fix the problems here before getting involved in a new conflict which has nothing to do with us or our people!

This is what amazed me

The British Armed Forces constitutes one of the largest militaries in Europe, though only the 26th largest in the world by number of troops.[2][3] The British Armed Forces however have the second or third highest declared expenditure of any military in the world.

What the **** does Brown they spend it on??????? Plants, pen pushers and logos for the MOD???

British Armed Forces - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

List of countries by military expenditures - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We spend more than China and the Soviet Union yet are still strapped for basic equipment and troops, we even have to buy everyone elses cast off cr+p just to sustain our forces at the sad to say below operational needs....... Our budget exceeds that of Saudi and India combined so what the **** are they doing with it?

Read Indias capability and manning and it puts a lot in perspective!

Proone's arrogance is more disturbing than the headline. To come on to a mil forum and rub our noses in what we have to do, despite many of us having personal experience of the near-criminal incompetence of this govt, is necky to say the least (I'd say culpable negligence and corporate manslaughter charges worthy of this joke of a Govt, with that tosser Broone at the top of the charge sheet).

We all know what our duty is, many of us, apolitical or not, find this shower of sh@t difficult to work for, as we all have a conscience. We don't need some civvy shiny arse like you to remind us. We're all allowed to bleat about our employer just as much as you moan about O'Leary or Walsh or what ever Godforsaken airline you work for. Thanks for giving us the forum in which to do it.

(What happens to the black Omegas when you're deployed? I've looked outside and can only see the blast wall. Maybe they've..........)

The UK may be the second or third in declared military expenditure (China and Russia are hardly likely to give the correct figures, are they?) but in 2000 we were the fourth largest donor of overseas aid in the world.

Allegedly we give over £800 million in Overseas Aid to India and Pakistan and look what they can do with the cash that frees-up! They can even have a moon-shot as well as lots of shiny toys but come a natural disaster and they can't cope.

No black Omega here yet; no, hold on a minute...

I think you will find that pr00ne is now a lawyer (you know, the profession that runs the country).......

As for the, "as members of the military you do what your government tells you to do (or quit)"...I thought that had a few caveats put on it after Nurenburg. Anyway, lots of us are quitting, for a variety of reasons, and for somebody who has already quit to tell us to put up or shut up seems a little disingenuous!

The Left are always first to remind us of our duty to prop up their total disdain for the culture and tradtitions of our Country, staggering organisational incompetence and mismanagement, and mendacity / spin to keep their noses in the trough at all costs

Biggus

I now realise my mistake, I thought he was management.

But a frickin' LAWYER!! They're the ones that have done this to all of us! I hate lawyers nearly as much as I hate politicians. Scum-sucking bottom feeders all of 'em. Nice to be reminded of my duty by someone in such an honourable profession. To paraphrase my earlier learned co-fighter:

COCK!

Strobin Purple,

Better hope you never end up in Court accused of something you never did then, your opinion may just change overnight, wouldn't be the first time by a LONG way.

Oh, and I'm actually a Barrister.

Before that I flew the toom for Aunty Betty. Though, to get back to the point of this thread, I actually WORKED for Ted Heath,Harold Wilson and Jim Callaghan....

And whose fault would it be that a member of HM's finest finds themselves in court: yes that's right folks!.... the legal profession (CPS - or whatever they call themselves these days) - an endless trough which certain individuals on this forum have been feeding from for many years and have filled their shyster nose-bags with muchos tax dollars.

Nice to see certain members of this site had a good old jolly free ride on Auntie Bettie during the Cold War (oooh how much you must know about current ops then!) and got no further than the RAFG Officers' Mess bars on a Friday...? Correct me if I'm wrong?

Lets hope the current recession doesn't see all these expensive legal chambers folding...no wait a minute, where there's muck, there's brass!

Training Risky,

So much angst, so much bitterness..............

You obviously understand the square root of b*gger all about the way that law and the police work if you think it's because of lawyers that the innocent end up in court.

Had a wonderful time in RAFG thanks, left when I no longer enjoyed it and wanted a different challenge. 2 CR tours, remind me again how many you managed?

Civil War? Cromwell for me everytime!

Pr00ne, you want to comment how your one-eyed, unelected tw*t of a leader has led a second successive Labour government into bankrupting this country?

Bloomberg.com: Worldwide

Jan. 20 (Bloomberg) -- The pound dropped to a record low versus the yen and the weakest level since 2002 against the dollar on concern the government will have to rescue more banks as the economy slips into its worst recession since World War II.
Jim Rogers, chairman of Singapore-based Rogers Holdings, said the “U.K. is finished” and investors should sell the currency. Commonwealth Bank of Australia said there was a high risk of a cut to the country’s credit rating outlook and lowered its pound forecast. Prime Minister Gordon Brown authorized a 100 billion pound ($142 billion) bailout for banks.
No more boom and bust my arse! You want to comment on how, if this is a global issue, we seem to be the only ones having our currency absolutely trashed? About how the government failed to regulate lending in the good years, how lending money on your mortgage whilst house prices wererising contributed 5% to UK GDP, and if it werent for rediculously lax lending rules in the UK, we would have been in recession since 2002?

Total UK personal debt

Total UK personal debt at the end of November 2008 stood at £1,456bn. This has slowed further to 4.1% in the last 12 months which equates to an increase of ~ £56bn.
Personal debt has forged ahead of UK GDP which, according to latest available data, currently stands at £1,410bn having increased by 5.1% over the past year.
Total secured lending on dwellings at the end of November 2008 stood at £1,222bn. This has slowed further to 3.9% in the last 12 months.
Total consumer credit lending to individuals at the end of November 2008 was £234bn. This has continued to slow to 5.2% in the last 12 months.
Total lending in November 2008 grew by £1.5bn; secured lending grew by £0.7bn in the month; consumer credit lending grew by £0.8bn.
Average household debt in the UK is ~ £9,600 (excluding mortgages). This figure increases to £21,875 if the average is based on the number of households who actually have some form of unsecured loan.
Average household debt in the UK is ~ £59,670 (including mortgages).
Average owed by every UK adult is ~ £30,420 (including mortgages).
Average outstanding mortgage for the 11.7m households who currently have mortgages now stands at ~ £104,058.
Britain's interest repayments on personal debt have soared to £92.1bn in the last 12months. The average interest paid by each household on their total debt is approximately £3,774 each year.
Average consumer borrowing via credit cards, motor and retail finance deals, overdrafts and unsecured personal loans has risen to £4,893 per average UK adult at the end of November 2008.
During 2008 Britain's personal debt has increased by ~ £1 million every 10 minutes
No more boom and bust! The man should be on trial for treason!

Square root of b*gger all? Have a look at the first profession of most of our 'leaders' (take Hoon for example) and you'll see that manipulation of the law was their first trade before manipulating the country and screwing it all up. You would be bitter too if you had personally witnessed the government lead us merrily into recession and military overstretch instead of observing from an armchair in Grays/Lincolns Inn with a bottle of port and gout problems.

Kudos for remembering how I bared my training history to another hapless OCU-choppee in order to help and advise through the redress process. Well done. How would you like to be the victim of the quota-monkeys at PMA? Now I am CR in a different branch - I would like to see how you would cope out here!

Back on thread though - Legally we all serve HM the Queen. It is a long-established convention that the PM and his cabinet exercise control over the Forces without a written constitution to frame various acts of Parliament. These are facts. Come the revolution, have a long think about who will be first up against the wall.
