Question

For those of you still in the air, Jamie and I got our R44 tickets today - so the skies are no longer safe...

Floatsarmed...and you are??

Go Baldies!! Great to see so many of you out there. I hope all are well. I'm currently the desk officer in Glasgow, peddling misery and pain! Talk about poacher turned gamekeeper! Haven't been near an aircraft in years (2001) but that just gives me more time to spend the flying pay! It would be great to get 343 back together; Middle Wallop sometime? Maybe we could look up some of the instructors, a game of oscar bingo anyone?

It was just a thought; old times sake and all that. But i'm happy to go with Glasgow if you want, it's a European city of culture don't you know, what what!!

Remembrance day Piss up

I remember that day the mess bar finally ran out of Champagne and the floor was covered in glass as I taught you all the skill of opening Champagne without removing the cork. I still have my hair but its all grey now. Oh I was the Commandant by the way. Good luck to you all

I remember it well LB. What a great day. That's the way i want to remembered by the subbies when i'm pushing up the daisys! I'm still trying open bubbly like that - don't always manage it though. Being part of the team that drank the Mess dry of champagne still goes down as the most remarkable achievement of my military career. No remembrance day has ever come close - and this year certainly won't. LB - how about a refresher next time i'm back in the area? I'll by the bubbly of course.

Bottles and Swords

Fester,

I still work at Wallop. Look me up in Building 431 and we'll head for the bar, bottles on you and I'm sure we'll pursuade a young aspiring gun pilot to lend us a sword.

Seems like we need to invite Low Ball to any gathering of 343 that we might have.

Swords and Bubbly.

Sounds good. All we need now is a sword and Festers Platinum AMEX for the bubbles!

Cool

Typical bloody APC342 trying to crash our thread, they always were envious of the better party-goers (if follicly challenged) of 343.

I don't remember the Rememberance day at all (hm, curious sentence that one), but I do remember the flagpole getting unstraight at the Time Travel party! And as for the mess cannons...

Mess Cannons.

Sam, they would be the mess cannons down at the Navy mess in Plymouth during the aircrew survival course? They were probably taken off Nelsons flagship or somesuch and here we are having races down the hallway. Quite a few sore and sleepy heads in lectures the following day I seem to recall!

That was RAF mountbatten wasn't it? So that would mean it was an RAF mess, wouldn't it? Whatever it was you're right though, that was a hellish day the morning after that night.

The morning after the night before.

They had big comfy armchairs in the classroom and the heating cranked up. Half the course fell asleep about 5 mins into the first lecture. Looking back now...too funny really. The poor guy giving the course was not best pleased! Makes me laugh just thinking about it.
