All those who flew the Chipmunk, My Friend Freddy Has Hairy Balls, Mixture Fuel Flaps Harness Hood Brakes.
I seem to remeber an alternative at Roborough: Mother Fer Firmin*....etc

[* instructor]

For climbs and descents there were PAT (power, attiude, trim) and APT - can't remeber which applied to which!

...and during ground instruction on how trim tabs worked it was explained in terms of ping-pong-ping or pong-ping-pong....WTF??

Memonics

What about FOEL?

F - Fuel

O - Oxygen

E - Engine

L - Location

It was drummed into me every 6 mins when being taught to fly JPs!

or HEFOE

H - Hydraulics

E - Electrics

F - Fuel

O - Oxygen

E - Engine

They obviously worked as I still can remember them 29 years on from when I was taught.
