Shurely it must have a nice little cradle in the pit somewhere that the driver can plug latest shiny Nokia / Jesus Phone toy into?
Granted GSM or 3G don't work well at 30,000 ft and cell handovers probably a little dicky at M1 point something, but Google Maps, GPS, cricket scores, and with voice activation no need to go hands off to dial.
Christ, now the MOD will actually think about this as a route to reducing comms upgrade costs....

Always thought the Jag HMSS would work well in the other single seat attack aircraft, and it'd be quite usefull in the current climate. Looks a bit complicated...

Well, maybe it will have eventually, but JHMCS is pretty useful for the air to ground mission too and I expect it's integration is mainly aimed to improving capabilities here rather than against airborne threats.
A GR9 isn't going to get into any dogfights anytime soon (hopefully) and probably wouldn't fare that well when faced with a credible airborne threat either, whether it has ASRAAM or not. Whilst a better self defence missile would be nice, I doubt it will get funded here as it would cost a fair bit more to add on than just the sight alone, though it could be added later and would benefit from any HMSS.

"Please refer to the following instructions. Please speak clearly after the tone.
If you want to go up, say one
If you want to go down say two
If you want to go left say three
If you want to go right say four
For any other thoughts, please say other..... and hang on....
If you want to eject say one hundred million, seven hundred and fiftythree thousand, five hundred and fortysix decimal seven two, followed by your inside leg measurement and hat size, you will then be given five other menus.
Please speak slowly at all times"
Enjoy

The F22 does not but the F35 does. It is speaker independent and very accurate. The Rockwell Collins ProLine Fusion Avionics will have it as an option and the Boeing Apache is evaluating it under an R&D program. The same system has also been used to demonstrate the benefits of voice control for interaction with Unmanned Air Vehicles.
