Goverment Forum for the Services.

Hello folks. I friend of mine told me about this forum the goverment are doing.http://forums.parliament.uk/defence-...dex.php?list,1. I have a had a look and it is asking for opinions about service life from service personnel from all three services. I have not seen it advertised anywhere else and I think it's disgrace that it has not been publicised more. Please have look. The more people that answer, the more the goverment might listen.

Considering many of the threads on PPrune over the last while I thought that this would have been received better. A chance to view your opinions, as INVITED by the Govt (with no comeback of course). So despite one of the latest edicts that said that we were not allowed to contribute to internet forums (fora?) THEY are now seeking our views. Are we all too cynical to reply? I have read many of the posts, and they are, in my opinion reflecting much of the things I have read on here over the past couple of years, and some are very forthright. Will THEY take any notice? Well I don't know, but if you don't speak up your voice won't be heard. I, for one will be doing some cut and paste over the weekend and adding my tuppence worth to the debate. Oh and the other thing....this HAS NOT been widely publicised to the Services, or so it would appear, I wonder why?

I agree with PF that there are alot of retired people on this site, however it would be an ideal chance for people to air their views to the goverment so that things might be improved for the folks who are still serving. I have recently retired from the Air Force myself, but I still beleive that I can do something to help the people that are still in. If it's only going onto the goverment forum to air my views on why I left and what can be done to help those that are still serving. Then I think that it is worth it.

Already done here with a very lukewarm reception
Frankly one post can hardly be regarded as an acknowledgement, let alone a reception.

I think this is a genuine effort by some MPs to get a response and would commend anybody who is serving or has served to post on the forum. It is possibly the only chance that we as serving personnel will have to make our voice heard.

I have to say that, on reviewing the posts on the site the vast majority seem to be from SNCOs, very few of the officer corps have put their head above the parapet apart from those who have said they are leaving shortly. I guess this means (using GW Bush logic) the officers believe all is well.

Very odd - MPs apparently encouraging serving personnel to break DCIs! What short memories they have!
