And here's another. This is a real-time recording of the memorial flypast at the Royal International Air Tattoo on Sunday 17th July 2005, complete with the words and music. It takes 2mins 41secs.

thank you for that. i was going to do this earlier but have not managed to pull myself together today and sadly the ol' chin has been a bit wobbly.
they may be gone but i hope never forgotten and pray their legacy lives on. we know that they will never come back but couldn't cope if i heard the news that someone else lost their life the same way.
the albert is such a beautiful plane and i love the way the roar of the engines resonate through your entire body. for those of you out flying today, stay safe.
XV179 detoured to the bar in the sky...have a cold one for me lads. curry for tea tonight in honour of my big brother. sleep tight.
most importantly one last message to all you fellow ppruners. thank you for holding my hand through the challenges we have faced and supporting me to the end to get what you rightly deserve. i will be forever in awe of you and always in your shadow.
keep the faith.

Don't pop in to Pprune that often any more, but back today to remember the boys on the 3rd anniversary of the tragedy.
They may be gone, they're not forgotten. God bless, blue skies and soft landings lads.

My thoughts today are with those who have been left behind to bear the unbearable. Thank you for the videos, both tributes to the noble fallen and to the Service family that unites us all in times such as this.
.
Chappie, they will indeed be safer thanks in part to your untiring efforts. That it takes the protests of the bereaved to right a glaring deficiency in airworthiness is a scandal, that you were prepared to make that protest is a tribute to you and everyone else who was involved. Respect.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning
Rough year 2005 for all in our community, but I pull up my socks and try to live my life worthy of their sacrifice. I listen more closely to my loadies, and have a longer look beyond the glareshield everytime I get into the seat. Raising a glass tonight to you all.
Still missed, still remembered.

Chugs, I entirely second what you say about Chappie - and she reveals another unique side of herself. I don’t know anyone else who thinks
not suggesting, of course, that Albert isn’t an entirely wonderful bit of kit.......
Actually, that missing crew manoeuvre in the video undoubtedly has its own innate beauty - and looking at the perfect weather for that flypast made me think of the weather today near Cottesmore village when the IX B Sqn Tornado flew the memorial for the 40th anniversary of the crash of Vulcan XM604. It was perfect today as well, when we remembered the rear crew who died that day. For anyone who hasn’t ventured into it, I strongly recommend SarBen’s ‘Does anyone remember my Dad? 'Vulcan Bomber'‘ thread
Green Flash, thanks for the kind words - in answer to your question
at the end of RIAT 2007 I announced that it had been my last. I figured that 28 years was quite long enough doing something allegedly creative. Not retiring, or stopping any other shows, just not doing RIAT any more.
Sorry, thread creep.

Having a nice cold drink as I write these few words. A toast to the lost ones and a toast for those that carry on in their name.
Chappie says 'keep the faith', too bloomin true. Always keep the faith.

Kam has asked me to post this message.
My son was determined to build a hercules for a school project on transportation. Plenty of chicken wire, flour and water, newspaper and egg cartons later, this gorgeous strong but scruffy, formidable but huggable creation was made. I think it went beyond the expectations of the teacher! Not just a project but a tribute to their dad and his friends who died with him.
To all who lost loved ones on the 30th Jan 2005, my thoughts are with you. They were admired and adored by so many for their professional and personal qualities.
They were great characters all of them full of fun and mischief,
and laughter. They lived and laughed and fought together and
they died together (Grp Capt Paul Oborne)

Not a day goes past without regret that these fine chaps are no longer with us.
Sadness tempered only by time and the knowledge that somewhere out there, they are still together.
Best wishes to those they left behind on what must be a very difficult anniversary.

Just seen your sons Herc. Best looking Herc we have seen for ages - and I live next to Lyneham!!!
Hope you are OK, yesterday was tough - it doesn't get any easier. Laid flowers in the memorial plot at Lyneham.
Thinking of you all
RIP lads - flying with the angels
