Cottesmore 11/12/2007

Evening all,

I'm conscious of the fact this isn't a photography forum, but my Jaguar shots went down quite well, so I thought some of you might be interested in seeing a small selection from today at Cottesmore.

Conditions were pretty amazing all morning with crystal clear blue skies, but the cloud rolled in for much of the afternoon. For me though, the best part of the day was right at the end:

I hope you like them.

Another set of cracking shots! I'm sure the Harrier boys will be itching to get their hands on some copies!

Well done!

They are really outstanding! Just out of interest; what equipment do you use to take them?

From his own website...

"Today Karl uses a pair of Canon EOS bodies, one the 30D and the other the 20D. He uses them in conjunction with Sigma 120-300mm f2.8, Canon 400mm f5.6L, 28-135mm and 10-22mm lenses."

Very nice

As always, Karl, some excellent shots there. I really should try and chisel for a few of your finest Jag shots!

Thanks very much for the feedback, gents.

Heywood - as Harrogate says, that's my current equipment list. To be more specific, if you right click on the images and view the properties, those starting with IMG_0 were taken with the Canon EOS-20D and Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 lens, while those starting IMG_4 were taken with the Canon EOS-30D and Canon 400mm f5.6 lens.

Nozzlefaff - check your PMs.

Bob - check your email.

Thanks very much all.

Wonderful shots of the sunrise - really gets all the hues and colours. Shame about the puffer-jets in the way, maybe you can "Photoshop" them out?

lol!

Was thinking a similar thing to MostlyHarmless - beautiful photos but they seem to accentuate how odd looking the Harrier is. Maybe it is the contrast of the beauty of nature and the ugliness of a machine that makes them so good?

Also I don't care how often they go viffyviffy, nozzleynozzley, they are still Gits!

Edited to add that img 0341 is absolutely outstanding, IMHO.

Karl,

Ref that first shot, were you in the field containing the lights.. next to that long flat out straight?

You didn't come across a wallet by any chance?

Al,

I was in that field but didn't see a wallet. Some old wine bottles and a pepsi bottle full of p*ss, but no wallet...

Dirty buggers. I always take my empty tins home with me.

That was a great place to be for RIAT a few years back, by the way.

Superb images, Karl.

At least one of the Cottesmore GR.9s on the 11th went over to the Lake District.

ZG480 after passing over Thirlmere reservoir.

It was Wittering's turn on the 12th. ZG858 over the reservoir heading for the dam.
