NO DUFF - Urgent Msg, Ex Forces & Arrse member in trouble (Help needed)

Gentlemen,

I would like to bring your attention to this thread currently running on ARRSE and Rear Party needs help.... should anyone feel able to assist it would be most gratefully appreciated....

Urgent please for help folks.

We have a site member who is registered disabled due to a missing limb, sustained whislt serving whom has the very real prospect of being homeless along with his wife an children prior to the Christmas holiday.

I'm f****d if I'm gonna let that happen.

We have managed to find him a property to let, within a few minutes of his childrens school and have the resources to move him.

Once in, with a small amount of ongoing help from ABF, RBL, SSAFA & BLESMA and also combat Stress he will be self sufficient and in the knowledge his family have a roof over thier heads will be able to take Combat Stress up on their offer of Residential help.

We need to raise a bond, and payment of rent up front, totalling £1750.

I'd like to think we can make a huge dint in this via you guys.

Anything that you can afford to give, is hugely appreciated. The guy is a member of Arrse, and although I don't want to ID him at this stage he is watching, as are his family.

I'm in the process of sorting a PAYPAL link and for those without the facilty an account for direct payment.

Lets not see a former serviceman and his family on the streets or in a hostel this Christmas.

Please dig deep and no matter what the donation, it really does make a difference.

Chris

Thanks folks

Loot on route by transfer to L TSB.
Hope it all goes well.
s37

Just realised I left out the bank's name in the transfer details but it seems to have been accepted ok. Hopefully the other details (A/C No. Name and sort code is enough. It should show as coming from shack37. If it don't show maybe someone from Arrse can put a suitably worded comment on this thread and I'll sort it.
Put it down to age!

It there is enough left over after ensuring we have the bond and rent up front for the landlord then the intention is to book some cheap flights to spain, a site sponsor has donated an appartment FOC for a week.

The children are 2 girls aged 6 & 11 and a boy of 10...... any monies left over will be turned into Toys R us vouchers to ensure they have a Christmas

C'mon chaps. Dig deep please. A couple of quid of your flying pay aint going to hurt and it is for a tremendous cause. The guys over on Arrse have done a stirling job raising some dosh for the disabled ex serviceman and his kids.

We surely cant allow an ex serviceman to be homeless this time of year can we?

Show 'em what the crabs can do.

Many thanks in advance.

Guys ‘n’ Gals, fellow ppruners

Sitrep (08:35 10/12/2007)…

The response has been outstanding so far, most humbling in fact. A big thanks to all who have helped.

It has been suggested that any funds left over once the objective has been secured should be aimed at Sellyoak, an outstanding idea…

I thought, that provided its ok with you guys, if there is money left over when christmas vouchers have been bought that I'd turn the rest into Ipod Shuffles and send them to Sellyoak....... hopefully in time for Christmas.

Paypal takes its time to turn around, but they take their chunk.

Please keep pushing, its not over yet..... Some of theese pledges may have been duplicated and c0ck ups can be made in txing.

Fantastic effort though folks, am truly grateful for all yoru kind donations, and when I speak to the chap involved and his family this eveing, I shall indeed pass on his 'responce'

Cheers again..... lets get this amount through the roof!
Chris

Nothing to do with the military, but my father and mother were both in the RAF/ WRAF (you work out which was which). I am however a grateful member of the UK public.

Donation sent via paypal this morning.

Merry Christmas.
