Cool Mercs r us RAAF Recruitment

The RAAF is still looking for experienced, which does not mean old, personnel for lateral transfer. The high priority trades are listed on http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/default.asp?p=1052
but others will be considered on merit. They may even consider the odd Air Engineer for Maritime as long as they sign a clause to limit themselves to only one choccy bar per sortie and never smelling of wee, tackling fat chicks is something we understand we will never break you out of! .
PM or post if you wish

Charlie,

Is ownership and shipment of a hairdresser's car still a requirement?

Is the grass greener?

If anyone has transferred recently is the grass greener, more lush and does it need cutting?

What's this about P3 engs only working in pairs.....some of the time, but certainly not always!!
It's a crew duty thing!

Cheers, FD

The facts

Don
The shipping of a tarts car is ideal unless you want one of Elizabeth's finest built bogan sleds . As has been mentioned I did spend a couple of weeks in Point Cook for a bit of camping and sword drill, so I know a good surgeon who can close up the wound for you . Caught up with Butler in ISK offered to carry his bags, like the steward does for you I hear!!

LJR
The current fee is as much Marmite as they can get past AQIS for personal use so I dont have to eat the other one. The odd decent pint never goes amiss.
H
The grass is sort of dried out brown due to piggin hot sun, so different and the same really.
DFM
As stated all Air engs are odd, you may even see some work out of the odd one or 2. They work in pairs not due to crew duty, but due to some of the women they tackle are just too big for one man alone .

Keep safe warriors

Final call for now

Ok we are now getting desperate I have been asked to pass on that we will even consider Jockanese applicants (except those who bide fre Banff) as long as English is their first language, applicants may have to take a language assessment the same as other foreign migrants .

Are you saying that there is no criterion for residency [10 years] any more?

Talking

Does anyone have any info on pay scales for lateral recruits into the RAAF? Nothing in the general info pack I received.

I also note that RAF pensions are taxed by the oz govt

D-IFF - maybe I'll see you there then!

Navs/WSOs/ACOs have better options now too!

With the announcement of the Super Bug acquisition I guess that Tonka Navs (even ex-Fag Charioteers!) can start thinking of sunnier climes again....
It was looking pretty grim with the Pig being close to retirement, but now there will be back seats in the F Models to fill in your work time whilst you are not at the Gold/Sunshine Coast!

Rest assured Amberley is a much better place to be than Marham Field!!

LJR - When are you coming home??

The website says age 39 cap for aircrew, but that is definitely a soft ceiling if you have the skills they're after, which is

Admin cleared, never was much good with paperwork!
Residency is 5 year permanent resident visa, clause is to become citizen as soon as possible which is 90 days of military service to qualify. Kids can be on parents passport at 90 days but your spouse will have to wait 2 years. Also you do not have to be married, they recognise common law relationships and are classed as "de Facto" for all benefits. You can keep your citizenship of birth and go dual passport, except the scottish who are required to change for their own good . Pensions are taxed, as they are classed as a second income at 40-odd%, you just need a dodgy tax accountant to help the tax burden decrease, I am too young and good looking to have a pension, but do have a dodgy tax man if you need his details.
Rough salaries are for aircrew SNCO's A$65 - 90k and for aircrew O's A$70 -110k at the FSGT-FLT LT bracket, no specific lateral pay scale but seniority does affect flying pay.
