B@gger! I'ver brought this back to the top again!

Tim

You'll find the 'delete thread' option, on Thread Tools sub-menu on the Mil Aircrew titles page - but it will only appear if you originally started the thread (which you obviously did).

I know you said you don't fancy deleting this thread because of its humour and I agree there is some good banter contained herein. Unfortunately, I think you'd agree that good banter is in the minority, whereas a lot of the thread is vitriolic, spiteful and illformed rubbish (from all sides) that, ultimately, does the fleet, the Service and yourself, no favours whatsoever.

I say this as I care deeply about the guys and girls still doing the business with few resources and top-level support (unsung as ever). This forum has a larger readership than many appreciate and it is regrettable that the coal-face of the Hercules fleet continues to show itself in such a poor light.
However, there is definitely a place for a Herc banter/rumour thread that mixes sensible discussion with earthy good-humour and banter. You are the perfect person to square the circle, so why not start a new thread and delete this one? Your call.......

God bless and fly safe

Flip

Tim,

Don't listen to the civvy bed wetter as this thread is a veritable feast of in service humour with only the occasional teddy thrown and not as bad as Flip would have us believe

I blame his parents for him so woefully lacking in moral fortitude

In truth, I agree that there's a lot of good banter. But sadly there is also a lot of the other end of the spectrum. Nonetheless, if Tim does not want to delete this thread, then that's his call - which I respect.

However, I hope I'm not alone in hoping that future posters would be courteous enough to refrain from degenerating from genuine banter into spiteful and insulting language; this does no-one any credit. Ideally, some people might wish to delete a few of their previous, less-than-intelligent posts (a few already have, thanks).

Thinking of you

No I'm not going to delete the thread (now I know how!). I thought about it, then re-read the opening post which is why I opened the blessed thing in the first place.

And I didn't bring it back to the top to tell you this - cheers Flip!

Bejeezus ratty. Chill out. It's not Flip's fault you didn't get a service on Valentines night. It's a K J thread, not another ratty vs the world.

Bugger

Nosegears.....................1 Wouldn't happen with an eng.
Overtorques...................4 Wouldn't happen with autothrottle.

Bugger.
Don't you just hate it when that happens

Might just taxi into power sets or start engines with brakes off instead?

Grow up.

An overtorque prevented by the autothrottles? That's the job of the FADECs.

Damn....I thought I wasn't going to add any more posts to this now silly, tired old thread. Stop everybody...just stop.

Overtorques are something that can save lives when used in the nick of time, don't mind the extra work if that's the case.

However they can occur during take off from Montevideo when the aeroplane driver decides he wants to show off to some aeromed girlie. Hate the extra work then, especially when said aeroplane driver doesn't attempt an apology in the shape of beer. Now I will not name names over this incident, however he was down sarf on 1312 in 05 sometime, while Albert was covering for the poorly VC10 and the crew were on a drinking ban and he proceded to get a little tipsy at a dining in night whilst wearing some very dodgy red trousers.

Monky,

I think you must have got it wrong old chap as 1312 has always been a K det and Baldrick was trying to insinuate some errors on the part of a J crew..........or are you telling us a K crew over tourqued an airframe whilst trying to imitate the performance of the mighty J
