But why can't we have a compass swing area near the runway like every other airport?

Obvious really, the Swiss Navy always swings its compasses that way.

Gunter told everyone he was a Ferry Pilot for military jets.....................from Saad hatchback to Saab Viggen in one day.

Military could no longer a fjord to fly so ferry well to that idea.
