Them hot-shot pilots from the northern hemisphere always seem to forget to flip their plane over when they cross the equator.

When speaking about the incident to his fellow students, and with obvious reference to his culinary training, APO Blumenthal described it as being more akin to an upside down pudding or apple turnover rather than a pancake on the 'drome.

This elementary training school will no longer tolerate exhibitionist
instructors making inverted approaches. Especially those so blase they
cannot be bothered performing a half roll on short final.
