Actually, strictly speaking it could well have been just a PBY5, and hence not named Catalina until later on when the name was generically adopted, the USA didn't adopt the name until 42, the run of that particualr model ended in 43 and the more versatile PBY5a had been introduced in 41 which that one isn't.
