At max power the Apache is able to raise its gunner's range of view to just above a bush.

"This little contraption should see to the dratted Miss Pitstop... now get over there and tell me when she's coming, you pesky pooch!"

For completeness, by the way, there are still two pictures as-yet unjudged:

submitted by Dusty_B, and

submitted by airborne_artist.

Here's another one for airborne_artist's pic:

Although it was generally accepted that air forces must move with the times, the AOC's manner of congratulating pilots on reaching 1000hr on type was considered by the more conservative to be a trifle unconventional.

It was found that the cardboard cut-out was almost as effective as the real thing and caused just as many "rubber necker" accidents.

The Apache finally got on station, only to find that the offending "Speed merchant" they had been detailed to catch, had got away in about 1998

Anything to keep it up Mike, as they say :-) Judging in one hour, so its time to apply yourselves for one last effort!

Conan

Merriment and mirth are not dead as this round proves. This thread has just gone over 130,000 views and the next round will see the replies go over 1,000.

Many notable entries, but for sheer topicality and the need to somehow keep smiling regardless, this round has been won with:-

"I say Freddie, with petrol prices at £1 a litre, it\'s no bl**dy wonder we haven\'t clocked many punters......"

The prize goes to Mike Jenvey and I invite him to start rummaging on the web, for a new picture.

compliments to all,

Conan

BEags: dunno. I've given all the photos that were still in their original locations the other week a permanent home, but if you or anyone else could help fill in the blanks for the pleasure of the masses I'm sure all would appreciate it!

Ah well, whoever wins the dog one will have an easy time choosing the next :-)

Got a link to a bigger version of the cougar pic?

I also volunteer BEags to judge the two outstanding ones if the originators don't drop by soon :-)

How odd.... That picture is on my PC and it was a toss whether I used that or the Apache for the last round.
