Well, chaps, the Judging Panel have met and pronounced on the Caption Competition which I am sure everyone realised featured an archive photo of Short Bros' first attempt at building a Tincano from Brazilian plans - "Look at the state o'you" exclaimed Mr Short jnr.
The quality of entries was extraordinarily high, with Buster Hyman, Wensleydale, Satco's Whipping Boy, ShyTorqe, Javelinboy, MPN11, 622, Traffic Is Er Was, and Lancelot de Boyles appearing in the short-list.
After much heart-ache and manipulation, the Panel unanimously decided that:
In 3rd Place, Traffic_Er_Is_Was with "Subscribing to the 'just in time' manufacturing ethos, the wings, tail, control surfaces etc, would all be fitted once take off speed was reached."
In 2nd Place, Lancelot_de_Boyles with "Owning a share in an aircraft seemed to make sense, initially..."
And the Winner of the Coffman Starter Trophy is Wensleydale, with "John was beginning to realise that the software in his 3D printer needed to be updated."
Congratulations, Wensleydale - the CST is in the post, and you have control.
