Private Pyle suddenly realised he had had to stand like this for five days for a bl**dy caption competition.

"It's a new form of Punishment Drill - you have to stand like this for half an hour, and if you drop the rifle, you have to start all over again !".........."I'd sooner Walk the Ramp"......"So would I !"

"So what did he do ?"......."He went to Archery Class, was distracted by the Instructress, and shot Sgt. Bilko in the you-know-where !"

Thank you, gentlemen. Pencils down, please.

Firstly, thanks to Hempy for contributing the pic.
Thanks also to Bronx for his, um, most interesting photo of Annie the Archer.

A commendable Bronze goes to Wensleydale for his very apt...

"Weapon firing; weapon firing; weapon stops.
No arrow in bow......check quiver."

Traffic_Is_Er_Was and Steve Cox had similar thoughts but Traffic got in first and takes Silver with...

"The use of Native American servicemen as snipers had engendered some unforseen problems."

Gold, however, goes to Danny42C with his simple yet profound assessment of the scene...

"They get like that after they've been here for a while."

Thank you all and - Take it away Danny, please!
