VIDEO: Vulcan XH558 flying around Beachy Head last weekend...
This is the original clip.
And two very audible "Vulcan Howls" in the last minute!

Awesome, thank you for posting.
How many passes did it make in total ?
Also, that bird in the last few seconds came pretty close !

I saw her at the Jersey Air Show a few years ago and wondered if she'd fly again. What a beautiful machine, and congratulations and thanks to everyone who makes it possible for her to take to the air.
By the way talk is that this year's JAS on 13th. September may be the last, as it is running out of money. Sad.

Looks great
Ref. the bird, ISTR there is a significantly higher chance of bird strikes within 3 miles of the coast below 2000ft? Not a massive issue with 4 engines, if you can afford to replace one. I guess the PR out weighed the financial risk?

Holy F*****G S***,
I finally see what the russians meant about the Vuclan being the only real scary plane - I understand about "The Moscow Option" now,
watching that down low giving off the roar of those Olympii - I get it. I saw it display on the Vulcan Farewell at RAF ST Mawgan years ago but even then, and everything I've seen didn't get what it means to have one of those down low (and yes I know they did much lower) but now.......
Epic with a capital Pee!

Yesterday, I heard a low pitched whining coming from the north.. t'was an unusual ungodly sound, not like a normal jet. I looked up (I was doing the garden) and saw nothing but the sound seemed to fade away. A few seconds later, there it was again, this time closer, but with a greater sense of urgency.
From behind the trees, there she suddenly was.. approaching RAF Kendrew straight and level and as ever, giving the impression of being violently pushed and straining at the leash at the same time. I always think its better to catch a sneaking glance of her like this as she goes about her business, rather than see it perform at an airshow. Its almost voyeuristic.. almost as if she wasn't supposed to be seen, which she wasn't of course, and that to merely catch a sneaky look is a prize in itself.
I won't post the video because it contains some pretty hot expletives. But she was a delight to see and hear as the coal was chucked on with as little regard for the Maldives as it was, for a sleepy Rutland. She teased us and gave a slither of a performance - just enough to satisfy.. if she was a car, she would have been cornering on her door mirrors. I'm not sure what the occasion was, but who cares. Maybe saying hello/goodbye or just reminding the new tenants what used to take place there.
As she faded away, the cheers from the village seemed to echo my sentiment. I wonder if Jessica Ennis will be so slinky, lithe and powerful at 50. Either way, lovely. 558 that is. Jessica Ennis isn't bad either.

I wouldn't have thought low level over the sea or close to the cliffs with the ever present bird strike risk was a smart move bearing in mind the corrosion worries they were having with the engines and the fact I believe they have only one spare remaining..
Looks impressive though.
Think she is due to retire next year to the display Hangar at RAF Finningl..... Doncaster Airport.. sigh... just doesn't sound as good does it... Doncaster Airport.
