208/1900 pilot
Hi there
Well now that I have organised my holidays in DXB (thanks Newswatcher), I am looking for infos about companies operating in that part of the world. I know of Falcon Xpress and will pay them a visit in November but I also have a rating on the 1900 and the 208 as well. Anyone could tip me on the operators found there. I have the JP ailrines guide but it isn't always up to date and some of the companies aren't represented acurately or at all. Now also very important and part of a scientific project I run, what is the "local" beer ? :D:D I mean if you fly in Bots you drink Castle, Gabon youget "une Castel"and if you fly in the Carib, that's err... Carib. So ? looking forward to getting my project back on track ;) Thanks for any infos you may have |
Has to be GUINNESS :) Try out the Irish Village.
Good Luck. Mutt. |
Does it matter so long as it is cold?
|
Hey Nasib howzit ? Paid you a visit about a month ago but you were busy. Will try again sometimes.
Being a Guinness http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/guin.giffan myself, I guess I ll have no problem to comply with the "local" custom then. To keep Nasib happy, I promise to drink only cold ones too;) That's the drinking problem sorted then, lnow et's get that job so don't be shy, fire your ideas :D |
Try DHL
|
Thought DHL and Falcon Cargo Express where the same thing ?
|
Only Heineken and Fester's available at the duty free.
Sick of both by now! Almost everything else available retail but at $5 a pint it's not cheap to drink out. Try the new operator on the creek flying the 208's on floats. Good luck - see you on the beach. |
"Thought DHL and Falcon Cargo Express where the same thing ?"
Probably. Put it down to galloping Alzheimer's ! |
DHL is out of BAH, to be in with a chance will need around 1000 hours on metro, I've heard but worth a go.
Falcon Express Cargo Airlines is based out of DXB 4 B1900 and 1 ATR talk of a second one coming, need a B1900 rating for a look in. Could not get two more differing companies in all areas? Don't know to much about Emarat Link who operate the two 208 but there planes are kept very clean Unfortunately that is the limit of aviation in the middle east unless you have 1000 hours jet time or a rating on one. If you are interested in FECA you will have to contact them first for an interveiw as there head office is inside the airport perimeter fence. Good luck and good holidays, for the best Guiness try Dubliners. |
Just saw an add on the Flight International web site for 1900 and ATR 42 drivers. You have to send your resume (who asks for resumes to be sent by mail these days??????) to someplace in the UK. The job is in Africa but doesn't mention where. Any thoughts anyone?? Regardless, food for thought.

Thanks Joeco, just saw it too and I was actually trying to find out who that can be for. Sounds a bit like my ex employer I left after major safety concerns apart from the location. My ex company was located in West or Central Africa and the advert states North Africa. A bit of research with the JP might help to solve that one.
On the other hand it is really in the Mid east I'd like to go and since I am employed at the moment, I am not ready to go just for the sake of it....Yet (he says:D$$$;)) Thanks anyway and if I find out who they are I ll post it. |
Hey AMEX,
No problem. Ya, if you find out who the operator is, I'd be interested to know. As for you past employer, you left due to safety reasons? For no other reason then to save the cost of a stamp, who were they? Of course you can PM me the info if you don't want to post it, that is if it's availble.;) I'd be interested to know how things work out for you. Cheers, Joe |
JoeCoNo probs with me telling here who I used to work for.
A company called Avirex and based in Gabon.... In case someone want to know more about getting a job with them it and feel like asking me, don't bother. I won't tell anyone anymore how to get a job with them because I don't want to feel guilty later. For those who read French, I have a thread somewhere in the French Forum dedicated to them with my experience from the time I joined until the days atfer I, thankfully, left. It is also made of extract I have taken from emails I have received from my mates who had decided to stay a little bit longer. As far as I am concerned, it ain't what you fly that matters but who you fly for. Been there, done that and got the T-shirt so thanks but not thanks. (end of that topic) Nasib Might Pop in next week to say hello and get you a number whatever you usually have ;) |
A big box of fags might be more appreciated by NASIB, ir renewal?
you are imc whenever u are in his company.he he:p |
Lets not talk about imc, otherwise I might have to bring up the height/weight ratio....
Hope all goes well with you. |
