Dispatcher position with QR in DOH
 

QR is advertising for a dispatcher position on their web site.

Wonder if anyone could share their thoughts/speculations concerning the pay, work conditions, duty roster etc. As not a single word is mentioned about the location of this position, could it be other than DOH???

I have 4 years experience as a s/haul narrowbodied dispatcher/load controller with BA, but have had a break for 2 years now. It was stated that some 7 years experience is required. Is experience/background factor dramatically important to get this position with QR? As they are rapidly growing, what is the current situation with this position???

I can only confirm that the location is Doha. can't help with any of your other queries I'm afraid. Other QR dispatchers may be able to help you out.

All the red-caps currently at QR are either of Indian, Moroccan, Palestinian, Pakistani nationality. No ex-BA or Europeans as far as I know.

I am sure that they WILL insist on the experience criteria being met.

Can any other QR dispatchers please help Dispatchguy with his query?

For someone who is saying they are not working for the airline you have a lot of information. If this is from friends then I think you should get a life. Mabe find a hobby that you are comfortable with.

I am sorry that you felt you had to say that. I do not work for the AIRLINE, but the AIRLINE is not the only employer at Doha International Airport!!!!!! Is it? Get my drift?

I am not ashamed to admit that I love flying and I love Doha and I love Qatar.

If I am happy with that life, why should I get another one, as you suggest??

By the way, in my other post to you, I was very sympathetic and complimentary to your current situation or to the comments that you made about the current situation of demotions at QR.

Why then do you decide to blast me above like this without thinking logically that my information could come from another logical source???

It might sound rather strange, but next to your post there are only 3 buttons except the "Private Massage" one. There are 4 buttons including the "Private Message" to all other forum users. Really do not understand why is it so...

Yes, I'm here every evening.
Still putting together all aspects of "should I go for it" or "should I better not"... Feel unsafe about the living environment there as haven't got enough information.
