Where to stay in Dubai!

If any one could please give me some info on staying in/around Dubai I would be most thankful !

I have been looking at the touchdown website- the best deal going is the Oasis Beach hotel- does it have a good reputation? We are looking for a beach holiday- with a couple of days in town shopping.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!!

The Oasis Beach is good value for money for a 5 Star Beach Hotel.

Like most beach hotels here they run a daily shuttle bus to/from
the shopping centres in the city - the journey shud take you around 30 mins.

Jumeirah Beach normally do a decent rate at this time of year. Not
as cheap as Oasis but a top notch gaff with a water park attached
on the side which is free to use for hotel guests.

Don't forget the Sun Tan lotion - daily average temp around 40c +

Cor Blimey Guvnor it's hot over here in the land in the sand !

Cheers 3 Off The Tee.

Mooney,

For a man of your standing, there is only one place for you to stay in Dubai.......

Burj Al-Arab........ http://www.jumeirahinternational.com

Just dont ask me to pay for it! :):)

Alternatively, check out the Dubai summer festival website, www.mydsf.com to compare the Touchdown prices.

Remember that this is SUMMER TIME, it's bloody HOT.

Enjoy.

Mutt.

Fantastic! Thank you for all the information and useful links!! I have pretty much chosen Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort... 89 pounds for 3 nights... looks reasonably quiet also.

40 degress- wont need to take many clothes then! ;)

Dubai

The Royal Meridien is ideal if you want a beach type location. However, lots of he hotels on the Sheikh Zayed Road area near the City Centre also ahve good deals going on just now.

These inlcude the fabulous Emirates Towers, which are offering rates of £65 per night just now, fully inclusive.

The new Fairmount Hotel is also offering tremendous rates.

Sorry, no links or phone details available. But internet will be easy.

Hmmm.....

If you want the beach, stick to the Le Royal Meridien, or Meridien Mina Seyahi (fantastic on Friday nights.....). Both about 20-25minutes drive to the city centre.

If you want the Middle Eastern equivialent to the M25 then, yes, by all means stay at the Fairmont or Emirates Towers on Sheikh Zayed Rd.

If all you want is cheap then try Golden Sands 5. I stay there when I'm there and pay 175 dirhams an night (30 pounds) for a single studio serviced appartment which even has its own fridge and cooker etc. Great because I can easily knock up an ommlette myself for breakfast.
Great location just behind the Ramada and close to the Burjuman shopping mall.
No need to be on the beach really as the taxis are cheap and plentiful.
If you do go to Dubai make sure you spend a day at Wild Wadi, it's a great day out and you can scare yourself ****less on the Jumaira Scarer
