You'll be a master slave in 14 years but don't worry...only one out 200 pilots resists that long in Camelhot so you will be most probably gone by then.

EK candidates profile
If we know mid feb are the next in the list and these are non-airbus pilots (because latest airbuses were fished up even from late march)...how many pilots remain in the pool per month and what kind of type rated do they hold? Try to make an unofficial list...I am Boeing/Mid March...Next?

Last time I checked it was costing me $500 more to fly full fare EK than the others on that route, cheapest yeah tell that to the passengers, they sure as heck expect their money's worth since they pay more on average.... when was the last time you got a hot meal on a flight.,.. lets not even mention those mythical things called towels.
Back to the topic, people come to ME because they want to, no one is forced onto a boat or plane. Yes some of the working conditions sucks but it's improving all the time. Even govt is taking steps to improve regulations etc. But you don't live in Dubai do you so how would you know..? I was worried about my future job before I joined EK since my own country is doing a pretty good job of messing things up themselves.., Like someone else said, 99% of us here made an informed choice to move based on pros AND cons, not just the fluffy stuff coming from HR... |
Same as you Duvivier.

EK Hold Pool (FO's)
Boeing early May.
I'm at the end of the list, not expecting any offer before the end of the 1 year period in the pool. Hopefully will be "globally" flying while waiting. Good luck to the rest. |
a few numbers
LHR MEL EK 2117 Euro NZ 2321 Euro
CDG KIX EK1083 Euro AF 1537 Euro FRA CGK EK 862 Euro LH 1668 Euro Flight all on same dates. What did you say about passenger willing to go to trough the Middle East ? You must be kidding right? Price is the driver. Keep discovering!!! As for the labor situation improving don't make me laugh!!. You don't know what you are talking about. Just be informed UAE is not a ILO ( International Labor Organization) member and did not sign the majority of the Human Rights charter. Wokers in UAE have just the right to work and shut up.If you say the word " union " you are in jail in no time. This is the main "secret" of the success of EK. You are about to join a Nazi (Hitler is openly praised in the UAE for obvious reasons ) organization put it well deep into your head there will be no space for dissent or complaints. Find below the Human Rght watch for 2011 and see how the situation is improving...Hello tomorrow!! World Report 2012: United Arab Emirates | Human Rights Watch |
Its funny how the subject is lost as we gone the threads! So what is the latest on EK hiring?

Has anyone heard about any possibility for DEC's with the Emirates ?
|

I don't mean to be rude - but this thread is about the EK hold pool for FOs.....
|
I think this is the new Emirates Interview Thread now...

Boeing. Mid Feb.
Isn't there a guy who has done a list on how many are in the pool, and the statistical probability of being chosen based on date in the pool, type, etc , etc. It was on a different Airline Pilots forum, (in the foreign section)!? Anyway, he used to do this thing in a previous life and it proved quite interesting read. If anyone is interested, and wanted to add to the numbers. Google the forum and search for the EK hold pool thread there (I am guessing I cant put a direct link on here):) |
are they still recuiting for fos then?
|
F/O recruitment is suspended indefinitely. Pool candidates are shortly to be given a Dear John. This is the word from over there. Gutted. Supposedly kicking off again in 2014/15. Sorry guys.

hi guys
any news? |
no....I don't think there will be any significant change before september-october...
EK is the one and only airline I've applied for...but maybe it's time to start thinking about a plan B solution... It takes about 5/6 months to get through a selection process, this means that if you wait the very last minute and you don't get the job, you'll have to waste another 1/2 a yr to get a decent job somewhere else... For sure EK is going to need pilots in the near future...the problem is: will it happen soon enough to let us in without going through the selection process again? I don't really understand this one year time limit rule...at least for those who are still flying and current on the EK fleet planes... But these are the rules of the game...there's not much we can do about it...Ek didn't sign any contract with us... waiting and hoping for the best.:ok: |
