Depends if you are type-rated or not...if you are, you won´t have any problem....EY, EK, QR, Jazeera are hiring.

what are the hiring trends in the gulf. is somebdy with just piston time reach out to the HR's in the jet operating companies. lets say 2000 hrs on single piston

I think EK is min 4000 with 2000 jet or something stupid like that!!! Over 20 tonnes, 55 tonnes, whatever - it all follows the FCU/MCP anyway:ugh::ugh:

Yeah you aren't going to get on EK or EY with 2000 hours at the moment. Its a crappy market for job hunting atm and the airlines are picking the guys they want.

I have over 3000 TT mostly military turbine, and couldn't yet find an opportunity to fly from time to time in order to keep my proficiency, even with a self sponsored type rating. You'll basically need the right type rating plus 300 to 500 hours on type minimum to seduce any operator in the region as their focus is on training and insurance costs.

EK is not the most demanding, I've heard JetOps (they operates the float C208 for seawings) is asking for 5000 hours minimum (beside float experience). Quite a lot to do basic VFR tours at 1500 ft :E

Anyway, it's a totally different story when you are well connected, I've heard of a 250 hours guy who flies on a Legacy :hmm:

My experience is that the airlines always pick the guys, or gals, they want.

In the Middle East you can get a job without a type rating as long as you have the right experience, being some thousand hours of jet in a multi crew cockpit. But even with a type rating and bags of hours you stand the chance of being rejected if the company is leaning heavily towards psychometrical testing.
