146 Drivers in EK???

Hi guys,

Was just wondering if there are any ex 146 Pilots in EK and if they recruit guys with just 146 time.

Yes I know it says 2000 jet but was just wondering if recruitment view this time equivalent to CRJ, ERJ and other such types.

Any reasonable response much appreciated.

I know at least one who got an Interview with only 146 time!
Most of my jet time is on the 146 and I got an Interview aswell.

Hope this helps

Yes, they are open minded enough to consider the 146 a jet!!!

Honestly, though, if you meet the minimum requirements re hours, you are going to be successful or otherwise as a result of your performance in the selection process, not on what type of jet you've been flying.

vbrules 26th March 2008 13:15

Is the 146 a jet?
Yes?
Then it counts...of course it counts. The only thing it doesn't count for is if you have command time on it and you want an accelerated orDEC command. That time needs to be on jet heavier than 55T.
There are stacks of people here with only 146 time prior to joining

Cheers guys. appreciate the responses

millerscourt 27th March 2008 06:50

Now you know why White Knight is happy in EK being an ex 146 driver with an airline in UK that has changed its name so many times and was going nowhere.:{

halas 27th March 2008 07:52

Five APU's connected by the Limitation and MEL sections are considered OK here for "jet" hours.

:) Flying a BAE146 is FAR harder than flying a 777 or A330 any day of the week.
Emirates would be lucky to find 146 drivers any time ... so just APPLY.:D

White Knight 27th March 2008 17:24

Name changed many times??? Sorry Millers, but Cityflyer Express only had one name change... How do I know? Oh yes, I was there - unlike you:yuk: As for going nowhere, I think you're thinking of the ex Brymon, BRA now called BACON outfit - don't know too much do you? Now if you'll excuse me I have a holiday to go on!!

millerscourt 28th March 2008 13:02

White Knight.
That is as maybe but I note that Cityflyer Express no longer exists in name!! You clearly as a 146 driver who had the choice of a forced move to BHX or MAN when BA moved the operation out of LGW made the right move to EK which explains why you are so happy there. That is my point as your career in UK was going nowhere.EK is an ideal move for those from Third World Countries ,and those like you in the position you were in at the time and US$ currency countries.

PS Have an enjoyable holiday. You deserve a break from Dubai:ugh:

And I thought that was the A343:)

millerscourt 28th March 2008 14:11

At least we in SQ got those A343's airborne even at 275tons unlike EK at JNB!!

tbaylx 29th March 2008 01:46

True enough, but then again the EK guys can do a G/A without almost stalling the thing.

Phileas Fogg 29th March 2008 02:40

White Knight,
The identity 'Connectair' springs to mind before it ever became City, I said 'City', Flyer!

ironbutt57 29th March 2008 05:21

Tbalyx...forgetting the EK airshow in DXB involving an airbus go-around?? (a non-fly by wire variant) Yes it was kept rather quiet:eek:
