helicopter ops
G'day.. .I'm tring to get in touch with any Middle East helicopter pilots who would be willing to give me a "heads up" on details of flying in the region. Specificaly companies, locations, types of operations, living conditions, experience and license requirements etc. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone "in the know" would take the time to drop me an email. . .Thanks in advance.. .w_ocker. w_ocker,
Can't say I'm an expert on the area because I haven't worked there, but I have contacted all the major players as I too am trying to get a position in the middle-east.. .From what I can tell minimums are basically:. .ATPL(H) with IR if not implied, ie., FAA.. .3,000-3,500 Hours TT minimum with around 3,000 PIC Hours in Helos.. .Preference to those who have 212/412 time. Seems to be the "big two" they all operate.. .AND, most importantly, there has to be an open slot. When there is no open slot, don't even waste your time/money sending a resume'.. .Hope this helps some. |
Cheers Helos,
That's pretty much what I know about it too. What I was hoping for was to get in touch with one of the guys or girls who are over there just to have a yarn about it all. That sort of thing happens in my present job all the time and I'm always happy to give any interested "wannabe" a heads-up on what we do and what its like etc. But thanks anyway, mate. Goodluck in your search. w_ocker |

Well, keep this topic on the front page. Sooner or later one will show up. I've talk to a few before on either this forum or the rotorheads. They usually give you a heads up as to any slots that are fixing to open up, pay, scheds, etc... |
