Flying in Abu Dhabi
Hi all,
Due to the current situation I've decided to put my CPL/IR on hold for a while to see how things pan out on the Job front. I will therefore possibly be moving to Abu Dhabi for a year or so and returning to my previous career in the oil industry. I just had a couple of questions regarding flying in this area and wonder if anyone could help ? 1. What would I have to go through to allow me to fly out there. I currently have a UK PPL/Night with 200hours and all 14 JAA ATPL exams passed. 2. Where would be the nearest airfield and what kind of aircraft do they operate ? 3. What's an approximate cost per hr ? 4. Are there any special regulations that I would need to be aware of ? Any info or advice would be greatly welcome, I don't think the flying could be any more different to the north of Scotland if it tried ! Regards UA |
Hello
There is a few flying schools in the UAE.. .I got my PPL from emirates flying school for a PA181 its 550 dhms p/h thats about one hundred quid and you fly out of Dubai Int Airport.. . There are schools with Cessnas in Fujeirah and Um Al Qain at about 450 dhms for the 172, dont know exactly but its about this price. . . Im not knowing about converting the Brit PPL.. .Im not sure if you have been out here before but all the flying schools are appx 2 hrs drive from Abu Dhabi.. .Im also from Scotland and although ive never flown in Scotland im pretty sure you dont have to deal with 40 C when up at 3000.. . Send me an E mail if you have any further questions.. . Regards . .
