Living in BAH

Hi folks,

I'm toying with the idea of a move to BAH for work. I'm a PPL rather than a professional but I figured if you want to know how fun a town is you ask the crew.

Anyone want to venture a 3 good / 3 bad to help me out?

Cheers

Cheers for the answer. I was hoping to get a bit of a feel for the Expat standard of living. I spent a lot of time in Jeddah with Air Atlanta in the 90s. Now I'm out of aviation and working in financial services and I have a couple of opportunities to go Expat in either BAH or DXB so I'm wondering what people think who are living in the area. I'll just have to fly when I come home for weekends!

Bahrain is fairly quiet and small compared to the other major centres.(Dxb,Doha,Mct&Auh)
Rush hour last 30mins, booze is on tap, boating is Ok,schools are fair. Summer is hot!!
Its not the best in the world, but its not the worst.

Thanks, that's about what I figured. I fancy a more laid back scene than DXB but still want to be able to go out for beers and a decent dinner. I'd be travelling a lot anyway and DXB is always there for the odd weekend right?
