Recurrent Sim

I am a new pilot in a prominent middle eastern Airline and recently underwent my Bi Anual check. I was awarded a number 2 Grade and was very dissapointed. I felt my performance was a lot better but I was afraid to object for fear of reprisal. A few days later I got a call from the TRE in question (a small American man) who told me if I made a complaint to the company I would never get a Command. Has anybody else experienced something similar?

So, You are a 777 pilot with EK and we have 1 'small american' TRE on the fleet. A quick check and the company has worked out who you are.

If you have a problem, why don't you go and visit the office to discuss your issues. QC is very approachable and my guess is that if you now don't front up, they will come looking.

I think posting this on pprune has probably reduced your chances of a command more than a poor performance in the sim. As ZQN as said, they don't have to try that hard to figure out who you are.

May I suggest 777 flyer you delete this thread asap before the small american or any other person who has the potential to delay your command does so.

You obviously got a 2 because the instructor felt your performance was substandard in whatever subject that was. I'm sure that during the debrief he must have explained the reasoning behind it. If you wanted to discuss it i would think bringing it up during the debrief would have been appropriate. If done proffesionally then i highly doubt that it would have any chance of reprisals. The guys i've run into are not interested in failing you unless you show them something they really don't like.

I'm sure a quick talk with the instructor in question woukld clear things up. You still may not like his reasons, but at least you'd know why.

let me guess, a 2 for communication and assertiveness?

B777EKFLYER,

Having known and worked with the "small American man" for a quite number of years, I would seriously doubt the validity of your statement that he basically called you and threatened your upgrade. He is an individual who has the distinct ability to seperate business from personal involvement and he would, I am CERTAIN, invite you to question any grade he gave you through the proper channels. Perhaps you should view the grade given as a wake-up call. This forum is certainly not the place to air a gripe you might have with a training/checking session. You have the right to critique/question any training issues you might have and I would encourage you to do so if you feel you have been unfairly treated. Please do so through the proper channels.

I would have to agree with some of the above comments concerning your judgement and CRM skills. Very poor form on your part, sir!:=

Get over it. A 2 is a pass. Not Chuck Yeager stuff, but a pass. Have a read in PAMS and see if you agree. Grades are not debatable and will not be changed. Study hard and ace it in 6 months.

And how come you only have to do a PPC every two years?

I am a new pilot in....
Your post is another prove that the mean overall quality of new joiners is declining rapidly. If not because of the 2 you received, then certainly because of the attitude towards it.
