DW - DP IPO: worth a punt?

Maybe the precursor to EK? I'm thinking about buying shares in the upcoming DP World's IPO and would appreciate your thoughts on the +'s and -'s please

If you are not it the business of buying shares, why bother ?

I'm tempted to reply Airfart, but I'm lost for words.....perhaps, using that logic, as I'm not in the writing business either, I shouldn't bother! :hmm:

I have no comment on whether its a good buy or not but the purchase could not be more complicated.
1. Stand at bank looking for forms that do not exist or listening to conflicting directions
2. Finally meet with bank official who informs you that two new accounts will need to be opened. One DFIX account and then a $US account.
(even if you are a Dubai Financial Market investor and security account holder)
3. Wait for approval from Bank head Office (2 days)
4. Return to bank. Transfer funds to $US account then transfer to DFIX account.
5. Wait and see if you get alloted shares.

You mean you actually got inside the bank? Well done that man! :D

Good piece in Emirates Today. Advice on good plus bad.

Personally, as they're not releasing the price, not even a guide price, it's all a gamble.

"Please tell me how much you're prepared to pay for your new car Sir and i'll let you know the price then. OK?"

Sure, chances are you may make a few bob on day one but the risks seem higher than the rewards. Still, 5,000 locals didn't think so at the bank today :hmm:
