This is how it works. You get whatever the cost is of a preselected Brekkie, Lunch and Dinner in the hotel. However, if the hotel offers a discount to crew i.e. 50% off all restaurants, then that discount is also applied to your per diems. Easy....................

And if you are the manager that optimises these cunning stunts to the max, then in a couple of years you will become an SVP, earning a very nice 5 times profit share :ugh:

Hey Uplock,

That was a great link but is it up to date? It looks a little bit on the short side to me since this is Emirates we are talking bout. So on average in US dollars how much is the meal allowance ( total ) per day in USA, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia?

Don't count on per diem as a bonus to the overall package. It will really only cover food and beer with a couple of bucks left over. If you plan on 'noodling'' in your room you might make a bit, on the other hand if you get a bit excited you'll have to exercise your card.

On a typical 24hr European layover it will be about Euro85to90.

Get real

Hi Gents,

Please get real Ketek. I'd say it is about 65-75 Euro per night.

Pork:ok:

I don't quite get the allowance for captain and other at the bottom. Is it a one off payment or like every hour?

Hook 22nd September 2007 09:34

each crew member gets a one-off payment per night, not per hour. Captain gets a few cents extra.

Don't even know if it is enough for a pint......:oh:

Uplock, the long winter nights must fly by! ;)

Dentist 23rd September 2007 05:27

ok, so now I know .. Another question for the ek drivers. I know it all depends on the A/c but what are the rosters like at ek? Say a europe trip? is that just one night and then back home? what about one day trips? any??????
cheers

Hook 23rd September 2007 06:30

Most Ek layovers are 24 hours long, simply because almost all flight are operated on a daily basis. Someone will fly the aircraft you just brought in back to DXB and you'll do the same the next day.
