so what did thay pay?

Tuscani 14th September 2007 22:11

All i can say is this is a disappointment it seems that gulfairs word never stands as the last, having experinced thier misguidance first hand i wish that one day they would grow into a proper airline and get orginized, how many more broken promises? How many more people are going to suffer and wait because of this lack of orginization? All is can Say is this has to change some one has to step up and Change this airline into some

Saleemi is still there?

The best way to find out if any staff is terminated is to search the web mail for his/her email.
If the email exists then he/she is still with Gulf air.
for example

Nice example isn't it.... :}

Look guys and Gals, GF is in the midst of a re-organization, and fleet rationalization, like they have never been before....your concerns as potential new hires, as well as many of ours as Captains/First officers flying the line as we speak, might tend to be secondary right now in the big picture....so be patient and hang tight...if you are successful and professional, see you on the flt deck in the (near?) future...

InTrGYYZ 15th September 2007 23:42

Ironbutt, I understand that GF is going through a reorganization and a fleet rationalization, but how can u ask someone to just sit there for 12 months, with no guarantee of any future. Does it really take that long??? lol... Am I asking for too much?

BusTie 16th September 2007 04:06

Understand? What do you understand of the REAL aviation life? My dear so called "aviator" with this attitude you will not get too far in aviation. Now I understand and respect your frustration and being upset, but 12 months waiting for going from a piper Cherokee to an Airbus/Boeing is way beyond being fair.

By your username, I can tell you had your training in Toronto, >>IF<< that is the case than you should know the real aviation life of a pilot, going from paying almost $100,000 CND for your licenses (all from your own pocket) to instructing, flying a Navajo for cargo company (in Canadian winter), Fly as a bush pilot,... getting into a right seat of a turbine,...work your way up (including washing your own plane on the weekends) to commuter,... or if you are lucky into an executive jet get the hours and then apply with the Airlines...only to realize Ohhh...you don't have much of a command time, so go back fly light piston/turbine cargo/charter up in northern Canada again, with temps of -40 and blowing snow, load the plane yourself, de-ice yourself while freezing your %%$$#, do an NDB approach into 1/4 mile vis runway PLUS paying all your bills with $30,000 CND income of which 22% (aprox) of it is going for taxes. THEN you could be one of the lucky ones (must have a University degree as well) and get on with Air Canada....and again if you are luckier than before they will put you on the Airbus fleet and not smaller fleet.

So my friend when you mention

Does it really take that long??? lol... Am I asking for too much? Ahh yes.. the holy month of Ramadan, sit back boys.. I guess we gotta wait another 30 days now

I have to inform you that YOU don't know the true definition of LONG.

Be patient, be professional and you will get to what you want sooner than you expected. Inshalah….:ok:

See you on line…..

(make it fast I am leaving in Nov)

Watch it :ouch:

Please do not talk about religion here, thanks

TZZ 16th September 2007 06:44

InTrGYYZ , you have to be patient if you go and do your training sometimes you will be stuck with bad weather for weeks and you cant train. So just wait like all of us are waiting.

Gentlemen, I was just seeking answers.. no attitude intended, I apologize ....Please excuse me if some of the frustration has leaked out a little bit.

Bustie, the amazing part is that I know Exactly what you're talking about and I have experienced it first hand(the washing of airplanes, fly to an airfield you've never heard of before, fueling your own aircraft) .. thats why I highly appreciate the fact that we have it easy here, when it comes to flying.. my own instructor had 1500+ hours and he couldn't get on with Air Georgian flying their Caravans. But the nice thing is that you can experience what you call "real aviation" in Canada and I'm pleased to have taken part in that.

Cheers :ok:

GFA007 18th September 2007 05:24
