As of late today, still no luck, maybe big bro has a handle on it.... Maybe its off to find the real thing....

I haven't been able to log on to HS for weeks, on both my Mac desktop and laptop. Interestingly enough I can log on with my laptop overseas (not that there is any point of course) so I guess it shows there is some serious interference going down in the sandpit.

Firstly try using a different browser like mozilla (HS bound to work), then make sure your proxy settings are configured correctly, i.e. proxy1.emirates.net.ae port: 8080. Once IT connects, remove the etisalat proxy and/or select No proxy. Enjoy! :8

Ask arund there is lots out there and if you have to use Prune to get or give details then respond discretly..

Thanks NG, I am trying to use the one you are using, and yes it has recently stopped working, will try updating it down route.

It's not bad luck, this guys was making money out of a non commercial application, you would face the same pb anywhere else.

Is iChat blocked? If not, it would be an alternative for Mac owners.

iChat is blocked, as well as all VOIP services that connect to phones. PC to PC works with Skype.

Why they let skype work and not iChat is beyond me.

just change the port number on ichat and it will work

A couple of weeks ago, I had my ISP & Landline service provider call me, & they asked WHY I AM NOT MAKING USE OF my LANDLINE for International Calls...????

This dumb 'Pilipina' (to hard feelings to other Pilipinos around) expected me to be SO NAIVE & tell her that I am making use of my VOIP....ha ha!!
